A day to celebrate

You really dont have to ask me twice to do some baking in the kitchen. It happens to be one of my favorite things to do. And given that we had reason to celebrate yesterday it made it all the more fun.

Did you know that things go a lot smoother when you have all your ingredients out and ready? The sugar was looking a little low, so we thought it best to fill it up.

Oh dear.

Lets try again.

This time we made it to the counter. And amazingly enough the bag was still intact.

Fill er up.

Can you guess what we are making?

Now for the wet ingredients. (Only after he asks if he could have a drink of it, of course.)

Mix it all up.

Official taste tester.

Look mama. I made some art.

Happy Birthday, Hunny.

Im pretty sure you should have had more candles on that cake.

Make a wish.

Where do you get the patience to have your little one help with baking? I'm just now trying to learn that with my granddaughter! Perhaps it's extra difficult for me since I'm learning how to bake myself at my ripe old age..
What a lovely cake he made, though!

Happy B-day S! What are you, 40 now? LOL Just kidding! Did you get a fried chicken dinner for your b-day?

Give your man Happy Birthday wishes from me.
And that frosting art, it is the greatest! I wish I'd thought of that.

Zitrone: Hey there! I think Im just used to having the kids cook in the kitchen with me. I started them out when they were little...As for the littlest guy, well, he almost always asks if he can help me, especially when I am baking...I find it hard to say no because I have so much fun with him in there! (I just know that Ill have a little more mess to clean up in the end, but its totally worth it)

Mim: I know. I was certain I was gonna be cleaning up a huge mess as I watched that bag of sugar drop to the floor.

Farmer Jen: I know, right? I totally should have put more candles on that cake...

Ang: Awww...Im gonna tell him you said he is SUPER lucky.

Cee Cee: Thanks!

Melody: Every kitchen needs a taste tester, right?

Country Girl: Thanks for the bday wishes and for the cuteness compliment on the pup. I am all set to make that bluberry cake tm btw.

Rural Writer: The cake was yummy. The hubby really enjoyed it. Must have been all the xtra love the little guy put in.

Sugarcreekstuff: Passed them along, thank you. You should try that art...

Penny: The cake was a blast to make. Especially with the little guy by my side.

GreyWolf: Thanks for that! S did love the cake. It sure was gone pretty fast tho!
