meme

I got tagged by children in the corn for this meme.

Where was I ten years ago?
Let's see....I would have been 23. Man, that seems like forever ago. I would have had my first child by then. We would have been renting a tiny, super tiny 2 bdrm house. The kind where you can reach every single spot in your kitchen with barely having to turn around. It was a house that we had to share the driveway with the house next to us. The guy was always out drinking and I would have to wake him up at 4 in the morning to move his truck so I could get out of the driveway to get to work. I was working at a bakery then. Making cookies and decorating cakes. One of my most fave jobs ever.

Things on my to-do list today?
Play with the little guy, catch up on the laundry, try to stop eating all my kids' easter candy, and drive over to the new house to tell them where I want all my towel rods hung up. Exciting, I know.

What would I do if I suddenly became a billionaire?
Hmmm....I would probably sell the house we just had built and find a nice piece of land that we could then have a farm on..animals and the whole deal. I would more than likely give lots of it to charities and other such things. Make sure that the kids were able to go to a school of their choosing when it was time for college.

What are 3 of my bad habits?

Just 3? I would say getting rid of stuff. I am always getting rid of something and then a couple weeks later the kids will ask me for it or my husband will and I have to say we dont have it anymore.

I like Nacho Cheese Doritos. No, I love Doritos. As healthy as I eat...I still love them. Especially with a big, cold glass of root beer.

Cleaning up as Shawn is cooking. I will come into the kitchen as he cooks and begin to follow after him and put things in the sink or the dishawasher...thinking that he is done with the item, when really he is not.

5 jobs I have had:
I dont know if I have had 5 jobs.
1. Manager at McDonald's
2. Manager at Subway
3. Bakery clerk
4. Person who makes coffee at Barnes and Noble(I Hated this job)
5. Had a job at a retail store, but never showed up.

5 things you dont know about me.
1. I dont like to arrive at the movie theatre late. In fact, I like to be quite early.
2. I dont like to cross traffic when I am driving. I will drive around the block to avoid doing that.
3. I like to put MandM's in with my popcorn. Salty and sweet.
4. I hate coffee.
5. When I was in grade school, one of my friends had this really great jacket she had just gotten. I asked my Ma for one and she said my jacket was just fine. I had one of those like plastic kinda jackets. You know you had one. Anyway, I took the scissors to it and then told my Ma that it got ripped when I was playing soccer. She was beside herself. I figured I was home free and would be getting the new coat in no time. Little did I know that she was gonna fix it up by using some duct tape. I was horrified. I had to walk around with it like that for quite some time. Many months later she surprised me with that new coat. She even sewed my initials on the collar with little buttons....I think she really knew the whole time and just wanted me to think about what I had done.

That's it. Play along if you want!

So cool!

Wow! Look what I got! Yay me!! She gave me this and said I am one of her daily reads. How cool is that. She must be bored out of her gourd right now since I have been kinda slacking on my posts, but I'll take it! Hopefully along with making me feel all warm and fuzzy inside it will give me a little motivation to get my self in gear and post, post, post. Thanks boogiemum.

So now, as the rules instruct, I must pass this on to 10(do I have 10 friends?) bloggers. Here goes: Sugar Creek Farm, Children in the corn, Farm Dreams, Fast Grow the weeds, Oh my stinkin heck, This just in, Future House, The expatriate's kitchen, The cleaner plate club, On the way to critter farm.

Pass it on.

Bloggers that make you think

Gnightgirl over at This Just In has been so nice and awarded me a thinking blogger award. I think (ha ha) that along with this award I am to pass on the award to 5 more bloggers.

According to my research this award all started over at The Thinking Blogger. So that you could set out to award other bloggers that you felt have or still do make you think.

I am going to pretend that
Gnightgirl gave me this award because she really likes my blog and that I have interesting things to say! Not just because she loves me and she has to. Either way I come out ahead, right!

So, here goes.

OMSH--- She talks about life. Everyday life and how it impacts her and her kids. She talks about how in raising her kids she has learned many things. Most importantly, she talks about honoring your kids and how to teach them things that will take them so far in life.

The Cleaner Plate Club--- She has great whole food recipes, info on how she got the food and where it came from and step by step instructions on how to get your meal to look just like her fabulous pics do!

The Expatriate's Kitchen--- Great articles on food and the influences it has become in our lives. Great articles on how to change that. And the best in my opinion, how to bring families back to the table.

Much More Than A Mom--- Ideas on how to raise your family living an organic lifestyle. As well as other great ideas.

Shaping Youth
--- Bringing out the truths as to how media and marketing affects our children and great ways to counteract that.

5 weird things about me

I don't even know what a meme is, (Should that count as my number 1 weird thing?) but there has been one going around where you list some weird things about yourself...

1. I hate used water. I think I have mentioned this before. The water around the edge of a pool, the dishwater in the sink, wet washcloths that have already been used...you get the idea.

2. I like peanut butter, but not peanuts.

3. I never slept with a pillow until a vehicle accident caused me to need one.

4. I don't like to be anywhere without a container of Carmex. I think I am addicted to it.

5. I don't like to have my nails filed. I really don't like the sound or the feel of an emery board upon my fingernails.

The bad thing is I'm sure I could think of more of these. I like to think of them as unique.

Tell me something I don't know

Gnightgirl passes this task along.

Something mundane that others don't know.

I don't like "used" water. This includes, but is not limited to, the water that gets used over and over as you wash your dishes in the sink, the condensation that forms on the outside of a glass, and worst of all, the water that collects on the deck of a swimming pool that everyone else has walked in. Yuck. I don't even like to think about it.
