I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
Every year the kids go to grammy's house and make place mats of some sort to use on the table. This year we had more like place cards. They hung very sweetly on everyone's chair.
Around here we try to keep it as fun as possible. Note the napkin rings that quickly became eye wear.
And, of course, since napkin rings are very multifaceted they quickly turned into this jenga type game. This one held everyone's attention for quite some time and there were lots of ohhhhh's and ahhhh's.
After all the dinner stuff was done and things were all cleaned up.....G asked to break out the bubbles. Of course, you cant blow bubbles unless you are in the proper attire.
Then we had a little knitting lesson. Grandma loves to knit. K showed interest a few years back, but it didn't really stick...so now she is at it again and this time seems to be very dedicated. I told her to keep on going....as tight as her stitches are....she ought to be able to make mama a really warm blanket just in time for her birthday.....hint hint.
Not to be left out, of course. G has to learn how to knit, too. He went right up to grandma and said, "I want to learn how to knit, too, grandma."
So, we all spent a very cozy evening knitting, reading, sitting by the fire, playing some games, and of course, enjoying some pumpkin pie.

Oooh, tell K. I love her top - very pretty. And I want G. to knit me some of those awesome, cozy leg warmers, just like his!
Your Thanksgiving looked like a lovely event...fun and inviting with lots of laughter. I would've loved to be there. I would have insisted you seat me next to the fun guy with the napkin ring glasses. I think I'd have a lot to say to this guy.
Nice job on the place cards, kids!
:-)
Hmmm, those leg warmers look a little bit like the hand warmers I knit for you. Glad they fit G's little fat legs. I know for sure they were too big now! Tell K, to not strangle the yarn. Looks like it was fun as usual.
Oh my, I love the bubble blowing outfit!
Good for K---learning to knit is so much fun.
Who is the handsome guy behind the napkin ring eyeglasses? After all the fun and games, did the rings make it through dinner w/o getting broken?
Looks like a fun day; women at work knit, when we don't have stuff to do. I'm so jealous of the scarves, socks, mittens they pump out. Would love to learn how, but don't think I could work it into my busy schedule right now.
I'm still thinking about that Jenga game with terra cotta...I'm wondering how well that worked out...and just exactly who started it. :-)
Sounds like a good way to spend Thanksgiving. I would love to learn to knit, just a dish cloth would make me happy....someday!
LOL...those leg warmers are too cute! I'm glad you had a wonderful holiday! Kim
Hurray, G finally got a day off. ;)
Sounds like you had a nice "laid back" Thanksgiving. I hope everyone had a good time.
Looks like a great day! Do you know how to party, or what, Maude! Love your table setting.
It sounds like a warm and loving day. Love the knitting.
Danni: I would have totally sat you next to the fun guy. And I fully believe that you would find lots to say to him. The kids always have a great time making the place mats. The jenga game was started by none other than my FIL himself.
Mim: Those are the hand warmers that you made me.....he wears them ALL the time.
Ceecee: The napkin rings managed to make it out just fine....the guys behind the glasses would be my husband's father....hes a funny guy.
Gnightgirl: Grayson will totally teach you how to knit.
Country Girl: Knitting....I just like to see what everyone else makes...
inadvertentfarmer: Im not sure what the attraction is to the leg warmers.....but the loves those things.
Greywolf: See? I am nice. I didnt have him fix any of the Thanksgiving dinner.
Angie: We know how to party over here....but then, it sounds like you do just fine at your place, too.
Egghead: It was a good day. Good food, family, a warm fire.....
