A little recap

Just a few tidbits from the holiday festivities.

K, holding on to her prized possession and sitting on dad's lap. Im not sure how
much longer she will be able to fit there!

We went to S's grandma's house to visit and have lunch. There were gifts, of course, and the kids got to hang out with their cousin who they only see once a year. Im not sure how J is even hanging on in this wrestling match.....but Im thinking it requires some abs of steel...something I can only dream of having.

I spotted a candy bowl....my mouth was really watering for some m and m's. In fact, Im pretty sure I was in withdrawal....having had my last handful while driving in the van. That must have been at least 10 minutes ago....I go in for the handful....only to discover this.

Who puts raisins in a candy bowl? Im just sayin.

K and I in deep discussion over her greatest present of all time. Im pretty sure I was teaching her how to do something. However, now that shes had the phone for all of 4 days....shes asking me, mama, did you know you can do this? Why dont you do it this way, mama? Ill be sitting across the room and she will text me and say, hey...did you know....Just when I thought I was getting FAST at the texting...my ego was feeling really good....4 days later? Shes blowing me away...she can text pages in the time it takes me to say, What?

Ohhhh...I see it. Another bowl. This one across the room. Sitting so nicely all by itself on the little table. I wonder, could it be?

Chex mix. Really? Cmon. Seriously.

After all that candy drama, we had to load back up and head to S's folks this time. To do another round of gifts and then have dinner. G has a new friend. She is pink and he loves her very much. Despite the fact that he can not remove her wand and turn everyone into pumpkins. He was very confused by this discovery. Mama, why cant I play with her wand? Hunny, it doesnt come off. Why not? Well, its sewn on there. That way you cant lose it. But its magic. If I lost it then all I have to do is say ring, ring, and it will come back to me. Oh, I say. I didnt realize that. How totally
silly of me. That makes perfect sense, hunny.

And a book. The way to all my kids' hearts? Books.

And me? Well, I was totally surprised and verklempt when I opened this. I was literally beside myself....flippin giddy, I was. I just couldnt believe it. Can you believe it? I cant believe it. I LOVE it. I am in love with it.

And, of course, every farmgirl has to have a pair of these, right? Im not on that farm yet, but clearly, Im on my way.

Looks like you all had a fun holiday. I loved seeing all the gifts and the happy looks on everyone's face. You are definitely on your way.

Nice to see everyone having fun. Too bad about the healthy candy dishes. Agnes left me with plenty-o chocholate truffles. So my candy fix is set for a while yet. You are going to have to ask her to put you on her gift list for next year. ;)
BTW NICE Llama

Am I to assume from this posting that K was allowed a cellular phone device??? With texting?

I'm glad you had a such a lovely Christmas.
After the picture of the candy bowl with raisins, though, I lost all focus. What is wrong with people?! Grandmother's should be fully aware of the clause in the G'ma handbook that states...."Candy must be made available at all times. Being a G'ma enables you to eat it without worry of gaining weight AND it enables you to give it to Grandchildren without having to deal with their sugar high."

LOL...what a cute post! Although as much as I like raisins it is just against all Christmas rules to put them out in the candy dish...just wrong! I say where's the chocolate???????? Kim

Awww, K looks so sweet on her daddy's lap. Here's to hoping she always has a spot there!
That pic of J. *cracks* me up - get that boy in gymnastics, I say!!

Raisins are just wrong - and that's all I'm gonna say about that. But I swear I'm seeing an M&M every now and again in that bowl of chex mix...I hope you nabbed those.

And wow - Angie...did you see that EXPRESSION on Marc's face when she got that llama??!! Much better than the one with her and the V.S. catalog!!

Hey, look what I can do, Marc: ♥♥♥♥♥♥

:-) :-)

Those legs get much longer and she's in trouble!

That kid is a human gumby.

What's up with no M&M's. Bring on the peanut butter M&M's I say!

Yeah, I have those issues with Ty n Tre. They text, I text back and immedietly get a text back from them. I'm slow.

I love G's new friend, Sophie loves her, Abby, Abby, Abbbbyyyyy. Too funny.

You look too cute all welled up over a plush llama.

Hey, what about the scarf thing I see around your neck? That's your color green. Handknit I assume? Is it llama or alpaca? Cause that would be yummy and warm.

Ma: Really. Maybe the next one will be the real thing, huh?

Farmer Jen: Everyone had a happy time. My little guy took some time just to sit back and take it all in....I loved watching that.

Gergo: Good idea. Agnes...sign me up, please. Is that as easy as it is tho, Gergo? Oh and I love my llama, too. Isnt she the greatest thing ever?

Agnes: I know, right? I had my llama sitting on a table at the in laws and every time I turned around G had moved it. Sneaky bugger.

crazy young black woman: Can you believe it? I finally took the plunge and got her the phone. She loves it and is totally fine with all the rules that came along with it....not that that would make a diff, right? The rules would still be there! :)

inadvertentfarmer and CeeCee: Right? There must be an unspoken rule that raisins in a candy bowl are just not allowed....there has to be.

Danni: Yeah. J is crazy like that. Well, you saw. Its just not right.

I was just about to begin filtering out the m and m's but then they brought me a big dish of mini eclairs....what could I do?

What expression? Thats how I always look. What are you talking about? ☺ ☺ ☺ ☺ ☻ ☻ ☻ ☻

J.J.: She was totally excited, to say the least. When are you coming down here? HUH? HUH? HUH?

Mim: Doesnt everyone get teary eyed over a llama? Im sure its not just me, right?

Im not sure on the material the scarf was made of. I dont think it is fiber tho. But it is very warm and cozy....

Oh I am jealous of those new shoes you got. Farm girl envy. Happy New Year!

Raisins....ewwwww. And didn't you know? Farming is all about the shoes.
Your llama looks like Koo.

Don said...

farming is all about the shoes!! my daughter brought me some wooden shoes from the Netherlands to wear around the farm. That sounds really cool, but they are freakin uncomfortable and cloggy! But, I wear them on occasion to remind me of my wonderful daughter in NYC and to connect with euro-farmers of yore.

I too would be looking for a little more oomph from the candy dishes!! C'mon, it's the holidays when calories don't do anything to us!!

Happy New Year to you and your family!

Those comments about the candy dishes had me laughing. I love that gift of the llama. Too cute! Oh and the shoes, yes you are on your way.

I'm insanely jealous of your llama. Did somebody make that for you? Where did they get it? I want a custom llama to match one of my own llamas. Waaaahhhh!!! I want a llama....sob....sniffle...

Hee hee, I'll start to text my daughter that I'll be there to pick her up in 5 minutes. But by the time I get done texting that, I have to change it to 10 minutes! I think if I had one of the new ones with a full keyboard I'd do better.

Nice Muck shoes. Now, are they orange or black inside?

Danni said...

Good question. You wouldn't want yours to get mixed up with other people who have similar shoes...

frugalmom said...

Anon: Huh. Well, mine are black inside. But, I seem to remember being somewhere where there were several pairs of shoes that looked very similar. Im pretty sure that among those shoes there was a pair that had orange inside.

Farmgirl dk: I know, right? Especially if the owners of the other shoes arent very good sharers.

Danni said...

If that sharing comment is directed at me...whatEver. It's pretty clear that Anonymous has bigger sharing issues than I do. lol
