Yummmmmm, home made apple sauce.... we made apple pie filling one year and Bernie ended up using every bite of it to put on top of his vanilla ice cream. Apple-anything goes over pretty well around here. Sounds like you'll be busy next fall!
So I noticed yesterday that the little tree/fruit farm on the way to my house just put up a sign announcing an "apple sale". 5 lbs for $3.49. Want me to email you some Oregon apples? :-)
Farmer Jen: Canned applesauce is a pretty big deal around here....I cant seem to ever make enough.
Diane: More like triple it.
farm mom: Maybe we can can it all together....you have to stay on your side of the kitchen, tho.
Country Girl: NEVER? Is that possible? You can totally use a water bath. It is so super easy. I do add cinnamon and sugar, yes. I bet here are a million things you could use to spice it up, tho.
Egghead: We want spring! We want spring!
basicliving@backtobasicliving.com: Apple pie filling? That sounds yummy. Care to elaborate on that?
Farmgirl dk: A sale on apples, huh? How sweet of you to offer to send them via EMAIL. Next time I just need to bring an xtra suitcase for all things food. Eggs, starter, apples, TJ items.....oh and one for kindling, too.
IF: Why DIDNT we can more? Im sure we had a good reason at the time, right?
Mama of 3 and wife to an amazing husband. Loving that my husband made my dreams come true and I now have my very own farm that has some critters, a huge veggie garden, and fruit trees galore.

Oh my, it's a sad day. I think I only have three left. Fall is too far away.
Looks lovely. I have canned applesauce in the past, but not for a few years now. Enjoy it while it lasts.
You'll have to double it this fall.. I know G loves that stuff.. Lets see.. Mich. trip for blueberries, apples.. good times this fall
Ahhh!!! Me too! 1 left!! I'm going to be living in the kitchen this summer/fall at this rate!!! *sob*
I have never canned applesauce before. Can you do it in a water bathe or do you need a pressure canner? Do you add spices and sugar?
Kim
Isn't it sad? Using up the last of home canned stuff just makes me eager for spring and summer to hurry along.
