Time management

You all know K, right? My girl. My oldest. My serious one, with a hint of sarcasm.

She loves ice cream.

She loves to smile.

She loves to read.

Every once in a while she loves to dress up. Altho, this particular time she was required to as she was on her way to a band concert.

She loves hangin out with her friend, Miss Danni.

And, shes very organized. (I LOVE that) In fact, it makes my heart just pit a pat- pit a pat.

Okay, so Im sure you also remember her prized possession she received for Christmas.

Its the love of her life, the apple of her eye. Not only does it text and play music, allow you to make your own ring tones, keep you in touch with the important people in your life, etc. Much to my surprise, just this morning, I also found out that it does something quite interesting.

See that little bell with a time next to it on the bottom left hand corner?

Apparently you can set alarms on this here phone. Why would you need to to do that you ask? Well, to alert you to things. Important things. Like when you need to set the table or when to brush your teeth. Why, you could even set it to wake you up from a nap if you wanted to. (Did I mention that I have the same phone as K?) I mean, not that I EVER take naps...but if I did, well I could set the little alarm to wake me in time to get things done before everyone got home for the day. I wouldnt want them to think I was laying around....relaxing.

This particular alarm tho...it has a very specific and time sensitive nature. You see, K has to be ready and in bed for the night by 9pm. Lights out at 930pm. As good as she is at time management sometimes things happen, ya know? She gets into doing something, she gets distracted.....all kinds of things can happen when youre 12 and a half.

Hence the reason for the alarm. The conversation that took place this morning, that I spoke of earlier, went something like this. Hey, K? Yes, mama. Whats this little bell thing on your screen? Its an alarm, she says. Well, why do you need that? To remind me to do something, she says. Yeah, I get that, but remind you of what? I mean, its set for 845 at night. What could you need to do then? I GOTTA eat dessert, mama. Ive missed it a few nights because I didnt leave myself enough time to get everything done. And I decided that wasnt a very good idea, to miss dessert. So, I set my alarm.

Oh. Well, that makes perfect sense. Carry on then.

If K would just eat dessert first, like I do, then she wouldn't have to set that alarm. But, to each her own.

Plint uses the alarm on his phone for everything; you can program it into your calendar to remind you of an appointment a day head or an hour ahead. I used mine for the first time today, to remind me of a hair appointment. How do you like it?

Ahhh, K is a brilliant child. Who would have thought to set an alarm for dessert? Not I. Sounds like she has her priorities straight to me.

If I were as young, pretty, and thin as K, I'd be eating ice cream as the main course for every meal. And I'd definitely set the alarm to remind me.

Good job mom! Sounds like you have lots to be proud of.

Could you set that alarm to avoid chatting with a couple of b*#%&^s into the wee hours so you wouldn't be super tired the next day?
Dessert's good too.
(btw-your girl is a beauty)

My daughter has that very same phone and it is amazing what technology comes with it. It is also her constant companion now.

I'm wondering where K's spoon is in that top photo. Maybe in her left hand. Or she needs me to send her one of those little pink babies a.s.a.p.

And what the HECK is sugarcreekstuff going on about? According to my clock, it was only 9:30.

Nice expression in that second to the last photo, Marc. teehee

Diane(ma): Exercise? Now you know I dont do that. :)

Farmer Jen: She loves her dessert. Thats for sure.

CeeCee: Yeah, and shes very serious about it.

Mim: So, like mother like daughter. Is that what youre saying?

Gnightgirl: Hey. Dont give her any ideas. Dessert comes after dinner, Loli. I havent used the alarm yet. G tends to be my alarm for most things lately.

Greywolf: If you were to ask her she would say her priorities are right where they need to be! Now if I would just let her stay up later....

Goatgirl: You say that now...

sugarcreekfarm: Are your girls into dessert like that, too?

basicliving@backtobasicliving.com: Hey Penny. Thanks for that. I am very proud of her!

linda m: Right? Shes got it all under control it seems!

sugarcreekstuff: You can set that alarm for practically anything! Except that, Im afraid. You just have to deal. Whiney Whinster.

Mrs. Trixi: Hi. Thanks for stopping by. The phone is pretty great. Is your daughters red, too?

farmgirl dk: Ha! It was a diff ice cream shoppe....maybe I should keep some of those in the van, huh?
I know, right. She clearly needs a little more practice.
Yeah, thanks. Thats my good side.

farm mom: Heyyy...thats a good idea. I may have to do that. Thanks Ang.
You, too? It was still early. Whay are you talking about???

I have that phone too, and want to point out that it has a step count feature in the fitness settings...in case you eat too much dessert like i tend to do :-)

K is adorable and I agree with her. Dessert is most important!
