Darby wanted to see what all the fuss was about up at the barn.
And rightly so...I mean, she does have a serious job here as the farm dog.
The goat boys heard something headed their way.
Kip, the ever curious one, was at the head of the group.
And it stayed that way during the entire introduction. Niko and Finley really had no desire to get any closer to Darby on the other side of the fence.
As Kip leans in a little closer....Niko and Finley begin snorting. Or what sounded like snorting. I think they are trying to warn him that they just arent sure what to make of that white thing on the other side of the fence. And that they really arent all that comfortable with him being so close to"it".
Needless to say, were gonna take this "Darby meets the goat boys" kinda slow. You know, baby steps. Nothing wrong with that, right?

Nothin' wrong with that!
Darby looks so excited in those pictures! I think it looks like the first meeting went pretty well. Now everyone knows what everyone else looks like and what to expect on the other side of that fence, right? I bet they'll all be buddies in no time at all.
Hmmm...since when are you such a patient girl? :-)
I think it's time to introduce them properly. If Darby's anything like my farm pup, Roxy, she will adopt the role of goat dog in no time and take the protection of those sweet babies *very* seriously.
Love your new header pic - I can't believe how green it is there right now! :-)
I agree, in no time at all they will be like "what dog???". ;)
I'm so glad that you are having fun with your boys!
Have a great weekend!
Sandy
((sigh)). I'm living vicariously through you.
I'm sure Darby will do great. :)
Dardy will make an awesome farm/watch/goat dog.. she's protects you all with a vengeance..and she'll do the same with the goats. When can she go in head first, and take care of things? Wish I could see that!!!! The goats look adorable!
so, what did Darby think of them? There is so much potential for them to have fun together, if they can manage it. Looks like a good start!
My dog Dixie who is a rescued formerly abused Dalmatian lives with our goats. They call for her when she comes out of the field for a walk, and they follow her as if she is the boss. She kind of is.
They even snuggle together at night. We did take baby steps in the beginning, though. She used to think it was her job to herd them.
I like how you changed out the Llamas on the cover shot for your goats!
